What inspired you to become a veterinarian?
My absolute obsession with animals. Let’s just say my first best fiend as a girl was a chicken.. then came dogs, a horse, a cat, etc. I decided to be a veterinarian at 8 years old after going to vet appointments with my mom. I never waivered from that dream.
Do you have any pets of your own?
2 cats – Dash + Stormi, 1 dog – Twitch (Black Lab), 1 horse – Lucas (Paint/Quarter Horse Mix)
What do you enjoy most about working with pets and their families?
Being able to bring happiness and comfort to both pets and their families – during the best of times and the worst of times.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Hiking, traveling, horse riding, reading, gardening, and cycling.
Favorite Animal?
Giraffe
A fun fact about yourself:
My absolute favorite thing to do is hike while traveling. I have traveled to and hiked in Nepal (Himalayas), Italy (Dolomites), South Africa, Montana, Arizona, and North Carolina.
If you weren’t a veterinarian, what do you think you’d be doing?
Either a pediatric doctor or something with landscaping/gardening.
What do you love most about working at Coyne Vet – Portage?
I love that we offer walk-ins all day long. I love being able to help clients and patients when they need it most, and I love the variety it adds to my day.
Anything else you’d like clients to know about you? I tailor my practice around client communication. Your understanding and your experience are very important to me. No question is a bad question!
